Upcoming exhibition 'From Here to Forgiveness' at the Brooklyn Art Library NY.
The piece consists of nine small canvases 3"x3", arranged in a grid, each embodying a different word emotion, temperament - these were randomly send to me as part of this project and the turn-around was in less that 24 hours!! (what? yes that's right, and it looks like it too haha!)
Hurt, Closed, Mean, Words, Actions, Mind, Uninvited, Narrow, and Forgive.

As I worked on each square, I found myself delving into the texture and color of these feelings, letting the paint and mixed media express what words often struggle to convey.
In "Hurt," I used deep reds and rough textures to capture the raw, visceral nature of pain. "Closed" features circular forms, perhaps echoing my earlier works, but here they feel contained, restrained. "Mean" and "Words" play with the power of expression, both harmful and healing.
Moving through "Actions" and "Mind," I explored how our thoughts manifest in the world around us. The vibrant orange of "Mind" speaks to the intensity of our inner dialogues. "Uninvited" and "Narrow" reflect on the limitations we place on ourselves and others.
Finally, "Forgive" offers a sense of opening, of release. Its lighter tones and more fluid forms suggest the freedom that comes with letting go.
I'm excited to have this piece at the Brooklyn Art Library.
Opening: June 25, 2010
At their space on 201 Richards St # 16, Brooklyn, NY
I'll be there, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on how these nine squares speak to you. Art is a conversation, after all, and I'm eager to continue this dialogue about the complexities of human emotion.
If you're in Brooklyn, I hope you'll join me for this exploration of the small but mighty ways we can express our inner worlds.
